The Los Angeles Marathon course covers more than 26.2 miles of the scenic Los Angeles cityscape. In past years, customers of Johnny Parks LAX Airport Parking could cheer for their favorite runners beginning at 8:00am at the corner of 6th Street and Figueroa. Past courses focused mostly on the downtown LA area, passing through prominent neighborhoods like Koreatown and the Crenshaw District. Several other landmarks were also on the docket including the University of Southern California. All of this is about to change though. Come 2007, a new marathon course will be unveiled, providing customers of Johnny Parks LAX Airport Parking with even more to cheer about. The new and improved course, scheduled for March 4th, 2007 will feature a new predominately downhill course beginning at Universal Studios Hollywood. The run is designed to feature a number of "globally recognizable landmarks" located throughout the Los Angeles area.
The Los Angeles Marathon is one of the nation's most prestigious athletic events. If you would like participate in next years race now is the time to start training. Customers of Johnny Parks LAX Airport Parking can enter the race for $85 before the cut-off date of December 1st, 2006. Later entries will be accepted, but an increased entry fee will be applied. All racers are supplied with a marathon packet which includes a timing chip, bib, an official marathon t-shirt and goodie bag.
